November 14, 2015 Robert Teitelbaum related his experience as a child who grew up among the mob at the Annenberg Center for Health Sciences on the Eisenhower Medical Campus in Rancho Mirage. His lecture was based on his book: Frogs and Snails and Mobster Tales: Growing Up in Al Capone’s Shadow. His story of physical,
emotional and sexual abuse inspired his wife, Carol Teitelbaum, LMFT, to organize groups and conferences related to men who suffer from childhood sexual abuse called It Happens to Boys. The formerly taboo subject often leads men down a path of self-destruction. It Happens to Boys offers hope, compassion and healing for men impacted by horrors in their childhood.
